But when it came to a rare first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, this certainly wasn’t the case. In fact, a spelling error on the back cover meant the book was so rare and unusual it fetched almost $60,000 when it went under the hammer at Bonham’s auctioneers in Knightsbridge, London. The spelling error? The second ‘o’ was missing from the word “Philosopher's” on the back cover of the book, so that it read, "Acclaim for Harry Potter and The Philospher's Stone".
